Pricing Policy
At My Exemption Check, we offer transparent, results-driven pricing tailored to the specific service you need.
1. Property Tax Reduction Appeal
Upfront Fee: $125 (non-refundable)
This covers initial research, filing, and case preparation, including communications with the county and submission of any required petitions.
Contingency Fee: 25% of the first year’s tax savings
This fee is only charged if we are successful in reducing your property’s assessed value. If no reduction is achieved, no contingency fee is owed.
Appraisals:
Our standard fee does not include a formal appraisal. If an independent appraisal is recommended or requested, it is the client's responsibility to obtain and pay for it separately.
2. Portability Appeal
Flat Fee: $1,200
This service includes full preparation, filing, and representation in a Value Adjustment Board (VAB) hearing for appeals related to portability errors or under-assessed market values impacting the transfer of your Save Our Homes benefit.
3. Comprehensive Portability Report
Flat Fee: $400
We provide a customized written report that analyzes the value of your portability benefit in financial terms — often used for marital settlements or pre-sale tax planning.
4. Hourly Consulting
Rate: $225/hour
For advisory work outside of our core services — including legal strategy, documentation review, or expert support — our standard hourly consulting rate applies.
General Terms

Our services do not delay your responsibility to pay your property tax bill by the county’s deadline.

You are responsible for providing any documentation requested by the county in a timely manner.

We cannot guarantee a specific outcome, as all determinations are made by the Property Appraiser’s Office and/or the Value Adjustment Board.
